Brayden's Christmas list this year did not consist of "normal" toys for a five year old to ask for (at least not what I would think of as "normal"). He wanted (and received) things like Anatomy Figures with removable parts and flash cards to learn about the body/organs, a globe, science/laboratory sets, a guitar, cookbooks, etc. One of his gifts from Grandma Tata and Grandpa Bob was a Jr. Builder set that has real mortar and bricks to build with- and then can be taken apart to build again.
He has been so excited to build with the set, but it's hard to find a time when it isn't getting to close to bed time, or that Rhylan isn't going to get in the way. Yesterday afternoon, during Rhylan's nap was a perfect opportunity for some masonry--- of course with a little help from Daddy, the "site supervisor".
Not too bad for a first house:
